Ovotrack - Database
Ovotrack is using an SQL database. The database is the heart of the Ovotrack and is usually installed on the existing server. All data is saved in the Ovotrack database. From the database all data synchronisation with external software applications, like EPR or Finance software, is organised as well. Furthermore the communication with the grading machine is done from the database. For communication with a grader, the grader should run the correct software. Communication from Ovotrack is possible with all MOBA Omna, Staalkat Ardenta and Diamond 8300, 8400 and Inova graders.
Ovotrack - Farm labels
For each farm and house a roll of labels is printed. The driver who usually collects eggs at the farm brings these labels to the farm. All necessary information, f.e. name, address, egg-type and registration number is pre printed on the labels. Furthermore a unique number is printed on each label, both in text and in barcode. The farmer sticks a label on each pallet or trolley that is supplied to the packing centre. With a pencil the farmer has to write the date of lay and the number of seconds on this pallet.
Ovotrack - Scanning at the farm

When the driver has a handheld computer with scanner, the farmlabels will be scanned during loading the eggs on the farm. The driver has to enter the date of lay and the number of seconds. A docket can than be printed with all the unique pallet numbers that have been collected. During unloading the eggs at the packing centre, the information from the handheld can easily be uploaded into the Ovotrack database.
Ovotrack - Receive
During unloading eggs in the packing centre all farm labels must be scanned. After scanning the first label a new purchase order is created. Some extra information about the shipment has to be entered, such as docket number, the total number of pallets and the total number of seconds in this consignment. After that all other labels must be scanned until the consignment is complete. If needed, a weighing scale can be connected so that the exact weight of each pallet can be connected to the pallet number. In case a label is missing, a new label can be printed. In case labels are scanned at the farm already, the information from the scanner will be downloaded in the Ovotrack database.
Ovotrack - Loader
At the loader of the grading machine the farmlabels must be scanned again. In the cabinet from the user-PC from the grader an Ovotrack Loader PC with a scanner is installed as well. After scanning, the necessary information is forwarded to the grading machine, f.e. the name of the farm, the number of eggs, the print code and the date of lay, if available. Based on this information the inkjetprinter on the grading machine can automatically change the printing on the eggs when another batch of eggs from another farmer is graded. On the loader the exact moment of change of supplier batch has to be logged by pushing buttons or by pulling out a little flag on the loader.
Ovotrack - ECI
With the introduction of the Eggs Cargo Concept, (plastic trays and pallets) automatic loading of grading and breaking machines with depalletisers or robots is increasing.

However with automatic loading no operator is available for activating a supplier shift when a new batch of eggs is graded or processed. This problem is solved with the Eggs Cargo Identifier (ECI). The ECI is a plastic tag that can be clicked on the top corner of a pallet. The ECI has a barcode that is scanned when a pallet is loaded into the depalletiser. It is than connected to the unique IP-number of a pallet. The barcode is scanned again with a fixed scanner that is mounted on the loader of the grader. At that moment the supplier shift / batch change is activated on the loader. The ECI will activate the dirty tray detection system on the grading machine so that it can be removed easily.

The Ovotrack ECI solution consists of Ovotrack Software, an industrial PC, a wireless scanner, a fixed scanner and a couple of ECI's.
Ovotrack - Grading results
Ovotrack is connected to the grading machine. This connection enables the automatic import of grading results from each pallet or trolley from the grader software into Ovotrack. That means that manual grading sheets no longer have to be entered manually in order to get correct farm bills. Also manually sorting out grading tickets when consignments are graded in different shifts is history: in the Ovotrack database all grading results can be grouped and reported or exported to other software systems.
Ovotrack - End-of-lane
To keep traceability information after packing eggs, the outer packaging should get a label wit h a unique barcode. Ovotrack End-of-Lane consists of an Ovotrack PC, a number of buttons-boxes that will be installed on the end of the packing lanes, and a couple of label printers that will be installed on top of the button boxes. Whilst setting the denesters of the grading machine the correct production-order or sales-order must be selected. By selecting the correct order, the lay-out of the label is selected as well. Whenever a carton, box, pallet or display is fully packed, the operator presses the button that belongs to the packing lane. A label with all necessary information and a unique code in text and barcode is printed immediately. In the Ovotrack database this label and the unique code are saved and connected to the eggs (and the farmer and house) that have been dropped in this particular packing lane.
Ovotrack - Grader seconds

Customers from the egg processing industry require more and more information about the origin of the eggs supplied by packing centres. That is particularly difficult with pallets with grader seconds. Especially when grading free range and organic eggs (with a lot of small batches) a lot of different farms and houses will end up at the same pallet. With Ovotrack Grader seconds a list with all farmers and houses that are packed on a pallet of grader seconds is printed whenever the button on the button box is pushed. On the list the same unique number is printed as on the label that is printed at ‘End-of-Lane’. Ovotrack Grader seconds can also be used stand-alone from other Ovotrack Modules. In that case a PC with a laser printer is installed and connected to the user-PC of the grader and a button box with a label printer is installed at the end of the packing lane(s) for seconds and/or processing eggs.
Ovotrack - Autopack
Egg packing centres are using more and more case-packers, display loaders and other automated packing machines. These machines are also known as ‘Autopack’. When prepacks are packed automatically the label should be applied to an outer box automatically as well. Ovotrack Autopack offers real-time labelling and automatic apply of labels on top of a box conveyor or built into a casepacker. If a certain packing lane is connected to a case-packer by changing the setting of that lane in Ovotrack End-of-Lane, the labels for that particularly packing lane are automatically forwarded to the Ovotrack Automatic applicator that is installed onto that case-packer.
Ovotrack - Despatch
To get full traceability each carton, pallet or display with eggs must be connected to the final destination at despatch. Ovotrack Despatch consists of an Ovotrack PC with a network of sender/receivers. This network takes care of the communication with wireless scanners for the despatch workers. With these wireless scanners the operators can scan the barcodes on the products and connect them to the picklist or delivery note which has barcodes as well. During scanning Ovotrack checks whether the scanned product is equal to the product ordered and whether the best before date is the same as the previous scanned products.
Ovotrack - SSCC and palletlabel

During loading a truck it is not easy to scan each particular carton or box. Therefore pallet labels can be created earlier in the process, during palletising or whilst preparing a shipment. With the same equipment used for Ovotrack Despatch cartons or crates can be connected to a particular pallet. At the end of that process a pallet label is automatically printed. In case of automated palletising Ovotrack communicates with the palletiser to record the connection between boxes and pallets. After connecting a final destination to a pallet a GS1 SSCC label can be printed.
Ovotrack - Stock locations
With fixed barcodes on the wall or on the ceiling, the physical position of a carton, display or pallet of eggs can be registered. With the scanners for Ovotrack Despatch first the barcodes on the products are scanned and than the barcode of the stock location is scanned. This results in actual stock position of graded and ungraded eggs for each location or warehouse.
Ovotrack - Repack
In the practical situation of a packing centre it very often happens that eggs have to be repacked after grading. When graded Very Large eggs loose on a pallet are sold in boxes, the pallet has to be repacked manually into 20 or 30 cartons. Ovotrack Repack will take care of producing 20 or 30 labels that are all connected to the original pallet of graded Very Large.

Another example is when graded eggs have to be sealed on a stand-alone sealing machine.
Ovotrack - Egg processing
Ovotrack Breaker is a scanning solution for scanning farm labels at the loader of a breaking machine. With each change-over to another farm and house a new batch is automatically generated. Depending on the possibilities of the breaking machine the technical results of breaking the eggs can be connected to the batches. This is comparable with the grading results from grading machines.
Ovotrack - Packaging
Traceability is also required for the packaging material used in a packing centre. Each pallet with packaging material comes with a label from the supplier with a batch number in barcode. This batch code should be read and logged whenever the packaging material is used on the grading machine. Another important issues of packaging in an egg packing centre is the actual stock position.

Ovotrack Packaging offers the functionality to solve these issues, using the same scanners and printers that are used for traceability of the eggs.
